Sandvik ER316L Stainless Steel TIG Welding Rod measuring 3/32" X 36" Dia is stamped with grade and heat on both ends and comes in a 10 lb tube. It is used for joining stainless CR-Ni-Mo and Cr-Ni steels in stabilized or non-stabilized conditions. It is used to weld in service temperatures up to 400 deg C and welds stainless Cr-steels with maximum 19% Cr. Rod is ideal for MIG/MAG-, TIG-, plasma-arc and submerged-arc welding and has a low carbon content which resists general corrosion and intercrystalline corrosion. The molybdenum content is balanced and also resists pitting corrosion. The parameters of TIG welding depend upon the base metal thickness and the welding application. Oxidation of the weld metal can be avoided by the usage of electrode negative and an inert gas of argon or helium.
