AlcoTec Almigweld Aluminum MIG Welding Wire of .047" Dia is made of 4047 alloy that has silicon as the principle alloying element. Non-heat treatable wire with 1070 to 1080 deg F melting range is capable of producing brighter smut free welds and is less sensitive to weld cracking. It was developed as a brazing alloy (BAISI-4) or (718) due to its low melting point and narrow freezing range. Spray/flame metalizing wire obtains gray-black color when anodized and can be used in applications of sustained elevated temperatures. When this wire is used as a filler alloy, hot cracking is significantly minimized. Wire featuring increased fluidity and reduced shrinkage is associated with ER4047 class of wire. Wire with .096 lb/cu.in density comes in a mini drum of 50 lb. It meets ANSI/AWS A5.10, AMS 4185 standards.
